
A spokesman for Castle Peak Hospital announced today (Feb. 4) that three patients (aged 56 to 69) in a female adult psychiatric ward at the hospital have developed respiratory symptoms since January 28, and all of them have tested positive for influenza A virus.
Among them, one patient with chronic illness passed away on January 31 due to continuous deterioration of his condition. The remaining two patients are receiving isolation treatment and are in stable condition.
The Hospital has stepped up infection control measures in accordance with established guidelines and will continue to closely monitor the health conditions of patients in the ward, and has reported the case to the Hospital Authority Head Office and the Centre for Health Protection for follow-up.
