The government has set up Care Teams to address emergencies and help ethnic minority individuals in need. These teams collaborate with district offices and local service groups to follow up on cases.
On Jan 27, the officials from the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau visited a resilient ethnic minority woman in Yat Tung Estate. She recently lost her father-in-law, her husband is in intensive care, and their premature baby requires special care. Despite these challenges, she expressed gratitude for the assistance from the government and support teams.
During the visit, Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak and other officials provided the woman affected by a recent traffic accident, with emotional support, and newborn supplies, and expedited her application for emergency assistance from the Home Affairs Department.
Social workers from the ethnic minority support team will continue to follow up on her case. Alex, a team member, even arranged for his wife to cook meals for her, demonstrating community support.

Earlier reports indicated that a fatal traffic accident occurred on Jan. 23, resulting in the death of a 49-year-old Pakistani motorcyclist named Faisal, who was also the father of a seriously injured man from another recent accident.
