On Jan. 26, the Xinjiang cultural carnival "Heart of Xinjiang, Hometown of Hong Kong" took place in Hong Kong, organized by the Xinjiang Association of Hong Kong and supported by the Hong Kong Home Affairs Department.
The event, themed "Shared Beauty: From Tianshan to Hong Kong," showcased the unique culture of Xinjiang and fostered cultural exchange between the two regions.
Cultural ties between Hong Kong and Xinjiang have strengthened despite the geographical distance. Notably, on April 26, 2023, Chairman of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Erkin Tuniyaz led a delegation to Hong Kong, marking a new chapter in their collaboration. Upcoming events include the new quality productivity forum to promote economic and cultural cooperation.
The carnival featured performances that transported the audience to Xinjiang, highlighting its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Renowned musician Lang Ge performed popular songs, while the art troupe presented vibrant ethnic dances, creating an atmosphere of celebration and unity.
This event not only showcases Xinjiang's culture but also enhances mutual understanding and friendship between the people of Hong Kong and Xinjiang.
