HKO issues special weather tips, warning for cold weather in future
The Hong Kong Observatory issued special weather tips at 4:30 pm today (Jan. 25), predicting that a cold front currently located in the northern part of Guangdong will cross the coastal areas during the day tomorrow (Jan. 26).
The observatory indicated that due to the subsequent strong winter monsoon effect, the weather in Hong Kong will significantly turn colder tomorrow afternoon to evening. The lowest temperatures in the urban areas on Monday and Tuesday (27 and 28, the 28 and 29 of the lunar calendar) will be around 11-12°C, with some areas in the New Territories and highlands experiencing severe cold. The daytime will be mostly sunny and very dry. Due to the apparent wind chill effect, the perceived temperature will be lower than the actual temperature.
