The Lo Wu Control Point is preparing for a surge in cross-boundary traffic during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday, with combined student travel, family reunions, and tourism driving significant demand.

Preliminary forecasts indicate that the mainland's Spring Festival holiday, spanning from Jan. 28 to Feb. 4, coincides with Hong Kong's public holiday from Jan. 29 to 31. With the overlap extending to a five-day period including the weekend, Lo Wu is expected to see simultaneous inbound and outbound traffic peaks.

Daily passenger traffic is projected to exceed 220,000 from Jan. 29 to 31 and Feb. 1 to 2, with the single-day peak potentially surpassing 240,000 travelers.
