
According to the official measurement by the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), a magnitude 6.2 earthquake occurred in Tainan City, Taiwan on Jan. 21 at 00:17, with a depth of 14 kilometers.
The Hong Kong Observatory received reports from over 100 citizens indicating a slight tremor that lasted for several seconds. Preliminary analysis shows that the earthquake intensity in Hong Kong was at level III on the revised Modified Mercalli Intensity scale, meaning it was perceptible indoors, similar to the vibration caused by a small truck passing by.
