On Jan. 16, Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Ms. Rosanna Law, met with Liu Hongbing, Vice Governor of Guangdong Province, in Guangzhou.

Ms. Law introduced the "Blueprint for Arts and Culture and Creative Industries Development" and "Development Blueprint for Hong Kong's Tourism Industry 2.0," outlining Hong Kong's future goals and strategies in these sectors.

To enhance preparations for the 15th National Games, the 12th National Games for Persons with Disabilities, and the 9th National Special Olympic Games, Guangdong, and Hong Kong have established a regular communication mechanism for ongoing liaison meetings.

Enhancing Cultural Collaboration

The blueprints aim to strengthen Hong Kong's role as a cultural exchange hub and to improve tourism by integrating it with culture, ecology, sports, and major events. The discussions also focused on how to share cultural resources and develop premium cross-boundary tourism routes.

Preparing for Major Events

The two sides also reviewed preparations for the upcoming National Games and Paralympic Games, with hopes that co-hosting these events will boost the sports industry in both regions. After the meeting, Ms. Law visited the Guangdong Olympic Sports Center Stadium to assess venue readiness, expressing optimism for a streamlined and successful Games.
