Off-duty police officer arrested for filming upskirts, suspected of attempted suicide by grabbing gun out of remorse
Today (Jan. 15), a gun-snatching incident occurred inside the report room of the Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station. The suspect is believed to be an off-duty police officer who was subdued on the spot, with two officers injured. Reports suggest that the suspect, feeling extreme remorse for his actions, attempted to grab the gun to commit suicide.
It is reported that the suspect who attempted to grab the gun is an off-duty police officer, who allegedly earlier engaged in taking upskirt photos of a 35-year-old woman on an escalator in the Tsim Sha Tsui area. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of "loitering for the purpose of committing an indecent act," taken back to the police station for questioning. However, upon being brought to the report room, he suddenly lost control of his emotions, attempting to grab the gun. He was promptly subdued and arrested by officers after a struggle, during which the suspect and two male officers were injured and later taken to the hospital for treatment.
The suspect has been arrested for "attempted robbery" and "loitering for the purpose of committing an indecent act," and is currently detained for further investigation.
