
South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol was arrested at 10:33 a.m. local time on Jan. 15, marking the first time in the country's constitutional history that a sitting president has been taken into custody. The arrest was confirmed by South Korea's Corruption Investigation Office for High-ranking Officials.
According to reports by CCTV News, several vehicles from the Presidential Security Service were seen leaving the presidential residence on the morning of Jan. 15. South Korean media speculated that the president might have been in one of the vehicles, based on the size and composition of the convoy.
