Police search office to investigate whether Robert Chung and HKPORI assist fugitives, Tang Ping-keung says
The police this morning (Jan. 13) searched the Hong Kong Public Opinion Research Institute (HKPORI) office located in Southmark, Wong Chuk Hang, reportedly related to the wanted Chung Kim-wah. Secretary for Security Tang Ping-keung said today that Robert Chung Ting-yiu, president and CEO of HKPORI, was not arrested but taken away to assist the police in their investigation.
Robert Chung was previously taken away by the police this morning (Jan. 13) to assist in an investigation.
Regarding the invitation for Robert Chung to assist in the investigation, Tang expressed suspicions that Chung and his organization may have done something to assist fugitives, which is unrelated to the organization's original opinion polling activities.
He reiterated that the statements made by the parties cannot confirm whether they assisted fugitives, and further investigation by the police is needed for verification. Currently, there is no arrest of the individual in question.
