The Hong Kong Observatory said today (Jan. 9) that the strong winter monsoon currently affecting central China will reach the coast of southern China tonight.
The weather in Hong Kong today will be generally sunny, cool in the morning, and dry during the day, with a maximum temperature of about 21 degrees Celsius and moderate northeasterly winds. However, tonight, with a significant drop in temperature, the winds will change to moderate to brisk northerly winds.
The Observatory predicts that tomorrow and the weekend will be cold in the morning, with temperatures around 11 or 12 degrees in the urban areas, and cold in some parts of the New Territories and the highlands, with generally sunny and dry skies, with a big difference in temperature between day and night.
It will remain cool in the mornings early next week.
