According to reports from U.S. media on Jan. 3, a Palestinian who had previously been detained by the Israeli military revealed to American media the whereabouts of the Gaza hospital director and several medical personnel who went missing last month. They have been taken to a military detention facility located in the Negev Desert of Israel. This location is known within Israel as the "most notorious" detention center, where these medical personnel may face the risk of torture.
On Dec. 28, 2024, the Israeli military raided the only operational comprehensive hospital in the Gaza Strip, Kamal Adwan Hospital, resulting in the deaths of five doctors. They also took away the hospital director, Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, and several medical personnel.
