All victims' bodies from Jeju Air crash have been recovered
All the 179 victims' bodies in the Jeju Air crash have been recovered. Among them, 103 bodies have been returned to their families, while the remaining bodies are temporarily stored in a temporary morgue and will be claimed by their families in due course.
Additionally, the South Korean Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport expects to complete the transcription of one of the black boxes, the cockpit voice recorder, today, but the contents will not be made public until the investigation is complete. The other black box, the flight data recorder, is being prepared for analysis in the United States.
The accident occurred last Sunday (Dec. 29) when a Jeju Air flight from Bangkok, Thailand, crashed while landing at Muan International Airport. Only two crew members survived out of the 181 people on board.
