To celebrate the upcoming Year of the Snake, Hong Kong's MTR Corporation has introduced a special edition "Year of the Snake Commemorative Ticket", allowing unlimited rides on the first day of the Lunar New Year (Jan. 29, 2025). The tickets are priced at HK$120 per set, featuring unique designs and festive accessories.

Holders of the ticket can enjoy unlimited travel on MTR domestic services, Light Rail, MTR Bus, and MTR Feeder Bus routes on Jan. 29. However, the ticket does not cover the Airport Express, High-Speed Rail, East Rail Line First Class, or travel to Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, and Racecourse stations.

The ticket set includes two specially designed tickets, a ticket holder, and eight red packets wishing "peace and prosperity." One ticket was designed by renowned local comic artist Li Chi-tak and features the iconic 1970s-80s HK comic character Cowboy. The other ticket, created by former MTR architect Au Kit-tong, showcases the Chinese character for "Snake" in expressive cursive calligraphy. Together, the designs convey wishes for good fortune and success in the Year of the Snake.

The tickets will be available for sale from Jan. 12 to Jan. 29, 2025, at the MTR e-Store, MTR Customer Service Centres (in non-paid areas, excluding specific stations such as Airport Express, Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, and Racecourse stations), and select outlets at Admiralty Station and West Kowloon Station. Registered MTR Mobile users can enjoy a discounted price of HK$108 through the app or MTR e-Store, along with additional reward points for further discounts. Quantities are limited, and tickets will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
