CCTV today (Dec. 2) released the official mascot image "Si Sheng Sheng" of the 2025 Spring Festival Gala, wishing Chinese people around the world a happy and prosperous new year.

The mascot for the 2025 Spring Festival Gala of the Snake is inspired by traditional Chinese culture, with the overall shape referencing the oracle bone character "Si" (巳), which is cute and naive, but also rich in ancient meaning.

The outline of the head and the spiral shape of the cheeks are derived from the gilt silver Ruyi unearthed in the Tang Dynasty underground palace of the Famen Temple in Fufeng, Shaanxi Province, China, from the bat decoration on the head to the long knot of the longevity embellished on the tail, the whole body alludes to the meaning of "Blessing starts from the head, the tail follows the Ruyi".

The five senses of "Si Sheng Sheng" also have their origins, the eyebrows and eyes are taken from the serpentine bronze.

The mascot's body is engraved by cloisonné technique with twining branches on the back, which means "endless life", and by filigree inlay technique with begonias, magnolias, peach blossoms and peonies, which means "the return of spring to the earth".

The main theme of "Si Sheng Sheng" is medium spring green, which symbolizes the fullness of spring and vitality, and the color scheme is taken from traditional Chinese colors such as parrot green, magenta green, lapis lazuli, lotus white, and citrus yellow.
