
Starting Jan. 1, 2025, more than 20 Android smartphones will no longer be able to access WhatsApp. This is due to these devices operating on outdated versions of Android, specifically Android 4.4 (KitKat) or earlier.
A recent report from HDblog indicates that Meta, the parent company of WhatsApp, is discontinuing support for these older models as part of its regular updates aimed at enhancing security and functionality. It's important to note that all the impacted phones are nearly a decade old or older, which means they cannot support the latest software and features. While this decision is logical from a technical perspective, it may be concerning for users still dependent on these older devices.
