14th batch of Octopus Cards near expiry: Key sound to watch for and replacement steps
The Octopus Card Company recently posted on social media, reminding users that the 14th batch of Octopus cards will expire on Mar. 22, 2025. The affected card numbers range from "88857001-88915000" and "95998001-96325000." Users must replace their cards before the deadline to continue using Octopus services.
The company advises users to quickly convert their cards to mobile Octopus or visit Octopus service stations for a new physical card. Users will incur a late replacement fee if an Octopus card remains unexchanged for a year after expiration.
Replacement Process
Users can check all Octopus service stations that support the card replacement program or use WhatsApp to send a preset message along with their location to find the nearest service station.
Personal Octopus users must fill out or register their information in advance, which can be done by:
- Register online or download a registration form to mail to the Octopus Company.
- After registration, a new rental personal Octopus card will be mailed to users within 2 to 4 weeks.
Upon receiving the new card, users should bring the new and old rental personal Octopus cards to an Octopus service station and follow the on-screen instructions to transfer data.
Converting to Mobile Octopus
Users with specific models of iPhone, Huawei, or Samsung devices can convert their physical Octopus card to a mobile Octopus card. During the replacement process, relevant balances, transaction records, and various services will be automatically transferred to the new card.
Users are encouraged to act promptly to avoid disruptions in their daily usage.
