New Year's Eve fireworks display set to dazzle Victoria Harbour
Tonight (Dec. 31), a spectacular New Year's Eve fireworks display will light up Victoria Harbour for 12 minutes.
According to the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Tourism Association, Timothy Chui, hotel bookings along the harbor are nearly full. He believes that the resumption of the Multiple Entries arrangement for Shenzhen visitors will increase tourists, which is expected to continue until the Lunar New Year.
The director of the Lan Kwai Fong Association noted that restaurants and bars in the area have seen strong reservations, with many establishments reaching about 80% capacity. She mentioned that while consumers are cautious with their spending, restaurants offer various price packages and discounts to attract customers. To accommodate New Year's Eve activities, the roads in Lan Kwai Fong will be closed starting at 2 pm. Police may set one-way crowd control if necessary.
The fireworks display over Victoria Harbour will transform the night sky into a vibrant tapestry of light and sound, showcasing a dazzling musical performance. The show will highlight different elements through fireworks effects, conveying wishes for a beautiful and happy life. Multiple viewing points will be available along both sides of the harbor, equipped with sound systems to play live music during the event.
