US House panel finds Matt Gaetz paid for sex and drugs, obstructed Congress
Former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz allegedly spent tens of thousands of dollars on women for drugs and sex, violating several House rules, including obstructing Congress, according to a report released by the U.S. House of Representatives Ethics Committee on Monday (Dec. 23).
The report indicated that Gaetz paid US$90,000 to 12 women, a significant portion of which was likely for sexual activities or drug use. It also concluded that there was "substantial evidence" that Gaetz engaged in sexual relations with a 17-year-old girl while he was in office.
