A 19-year-old young man in India died after his shirt got accidentally caught in a large mixing machine while he was working in a restaurant kitchen.
According to local media reports, the incident occurred at a restaurant in Worli, Mumbai.
Footage circulating online shows the victim handling materials in the mixing machine with his bare hands.
As he leaned forward to stir the materials, his clothing was suddenly pulled into the machine. He was startled and attempted to free himself with his other hand but failed. Ultimately, he was pulled in tighter and fell entirely into the mixer.
Police and firefighters arrived on the scene and were able to rescue him, but he succumbed to his injuries after being taken to the hospital.
Reports indicate that he had been working at the restaurant for 3 to 4 months, grinding ingredients for dishes, but he had never received training on how to use the mixing machine.
The police have detained the restaurant owner for failing to provide adequate training and safety measures to employees.
