PANDA GO! 1000 giant panda sculptures available for 'adoption' from today
The giant panda sculpture exhibition "PANDA GO! Hong Kong Tour" has launched the "I Want to Be a Keeper" program. From 11 a.m. today (Dec. 16), for the next 48 hours, anyone who donates through the designated online platform can "adopt" a small or large giant panda sculpture displayed in the exhibition.
Panda enthusiasts interested in becoming keepers can donate HK$350 (for a small sculpture), HK$550 (for a large sculpture), or more via the DDTStore online platform within 48 hours starting from 11 a.m. today. It's first come, first served, and donations will be accepted until the quota is full.
The organizer, ARR, stated that all donations will go directly to Ocean Park without any deductions to support giant panda conservation efforts.
The third session of the "PANDA GO! Hong Kong Tour" exhibition will be held at Ocean Park on Dec. 21 and 22, with the final session taking place at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park on Dec. 25 and 26. Successful "keepers" must pick up their adopted giant panda sculptures at Sun Yat Sen Memorial Park on the afternoon of Dec. 26 after the exhibition ends.
The large panda sculptures weigh about 4 kilograms, and the organizers remind "keepers" to bring their own eco-friendly bags on the pick-up day. If unable to collect the sculpture on that day, they must request a reschedule by noon on Dec. 23; otherwise, it will be considered a forfeiture, and the donated amount will not be refunded.
Ten minutes after the platform opened, all the small giant panda sculptures had already been "adopted". As for the large giant panda sculptures, they are still available for "adoption" as of the time of this report.
