Govt to hold more activities about giant panda: John Lee
Chief Executive John Lee expressed his gratitude during his speech, thanking the central government for gifting a pair of lovable and energetic giant pandas to Hong Kong, which truly demonstrates the care and support of the central government towards Hong Kong.
In his address, Lee mentioned that the SAR government will seize the opportunity brought by the giant pandas, uniting various sectors of society to launch more panda-related promotional activities, providing a wonderful and unforgettable panda experience for citizens and tourists.
He reminisced about his first encounter with the two giant pandas in Sichuan with his wife in early July this year, describing one as clever and lively, and the other as gentle and cute, stating that "both my wife and I were deeply impressed at first sight."
According to Lee, the two giant pandas will meet the public starting tomorrow (Dec. 8).
"The SAR government, together with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and Ocean Park, will leverage the charm of the panda family to organize a series of promotional activities, ignite 'panda fever,' and bring the giant pandas to different corners."
Lee also noted that the SAR government will seize and promote the opportunities brought by the giant pandas, actively organizing more related activities with various sectors, introducing panda products with local characteristics, providing a unique experience for tourists, and boosting various industries.
