Cause of Chiung Yao's death revealed: Asphyxiation due to carbon monoxide poisoning
The famous romance writer Chiung Yao died on the afternoon of Dec. 4 at her home in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, at the age of 86. On Dec. 5, according to Taiwan media reports, Chiung Yao's dead body was sent to the funeral parlor on the evening of Dec. 4, and the prosecutor and forensic pathologist, after 40 minutes of examination, concluded that she died due to asphyxiation caused by carbon monoxide poisoning.
It is reported that after her death, the prosecutor confirmed that there was no external intervention in the cause of death and there was no suspicion of homicide, and her family had no objection to the cause of death.
The 63-year-old son of Qiong Yao said that his mother left a suicide note, explaining that his secretary would go home at noon to take a look. Upon entering the house, the secretary discovered her and immediately notified emergency personnel. But when the ambulance crew arrived, they found that Qiong Yao had no respiratory and heartbeat, and was obviously dead without being sent to the hospital.
Chiung Yao, whose real name was Chen Che, was born in 1938, famous for her romance novels. Her works, such as Plum Blossom Scar and My Fair Princess, have been widely acclaimed and adapted into films and television dramas.
