HKSAR govt welcomes resumption of multi-entry visas, allowing Shenzhen residents to visit HK flexibly
Starting Dec. 1, 2024, Shenzhen residents with household registration or residence permits can apply for a "multiple-entry visa" for travel to Hong Kong. Under this policy, residents will be allowed unlimited trips to Hong Kong within one year, with each stay not exceeding 7 days.
The Chief Executive, John Lee, said he is sincerely grateful to the central government for its continuous care and support for Hong Kong, for attaching importance to and considering the proposals put forward by the SAR government, and for its continuous efforts in introducing a number of measures to benefit Hong Kong.
To ensure the smooth implementation of the new arrangements on Sunday, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Chan Kwok-ki, chaired an inter-departmental meeting yesterday (Nov. 28) to ensure the smooth operation of the cross-boundary control points, tourism facilities and public transportation network, etc., so that visitors can have a good experience.
The Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism, Kevin Yeung, said that the central government has always supported Hong Kong's economic and tourism development. The resumption of "multiple-entry permits" for Shenzhen residents with household registration and its extension to residence permit holders will further stimulate Hong Kong's tourism, retail and food and beverage sectors, and inject new impetus into Hong Kong's economy. The HKTB will step up publicity for Hong Kong in Shenzhen and launch an online platform to attract more Shenzhen visitors to Hong Kong.
