Wu Qian calls on US to stop fabricating lies and cease provocative actions
During the 11th ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus), no meeting took place between the U.S. and Chinese Defense Ministers. A spokesperson for the Ministry of National Defense previously stated that the responsibility lies entirely with the U.S. side.
Wu Qian, spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense, reiterated today (Nov. 28) at a regular press conference that meetings require a suitable atmosphere and that communication cannot lack principles.
Wu stated that China has principled views on the development of military relations with the United States, emphasizing that China's sovereignty, dignity, and core interests are inviolable.
Wu emphasized that China is committed to resolving disputes through friendly consultation and aims to transform the South China Sea into a sea of peace, friendship, and cooperation. He called on the U.S. to stop fabricating lies and cease provocative actions.
