The Ministry of National Defense of the People's Republic of China (MND) strongly condemned the recent U.S. government's decision to provide approximately US$567 million in military aid to Taiwan, which includes training, anti-armor capabilities, and drones.

MND spokesperson Wu Qian stated that despite China's strong opposition, the U.S. proceeded with the military aid, severely violating the One-China principle and the Three Joint Communiqués, jeopardizing China's sovereignty and security interests, and undermining peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait.

Wu highlighted that arming Taiwan promotes separatism, which he equates with war, and insisted that any strategy to "use Taiwan to control China" would be self-defeating.

He urged the U.S. to cease its dual-faced approach towards China, stop arming Taiwan, and avoid further disruption to the relations between the two countries and their militaries.

Wu reaffirmed that the People's Liberation Army of China (PLA) is continuously enhancing its training and combat readiness to decisively counteract any efforts toward "Taiwan's independence" and external interference, steadfastly defending national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
