CE believes progress will be made regarding 'multiple-entry' Individual Visit Endorsements for Shenzhen residents
In his remarks at the Fifth Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development Forum and Award Ceremony held by Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, John Lee stated that this year marks the fifth anniversary of the release of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. With strong support from the Central Government and the concerted efforts of various cities in the Bay Area, significant achievements have been made in its development.
Lee mentioned that in his policy address, he proposed to the Central Government further enhancements on Mainland residents' tourism visit endorsements to Hong Kong, including resuming the "multiple-entry" Individual Visit Endorsements for Shenzhen residents and expanding the coverage of pilot cities for implementing policies on the "one trip per week" Individual Visit Endorsements.
He expressed gratitude to the relevant departments of the Central Government for actively researching and accelerating this process, believing that progress will be made soon.
He also noted that this week he led a delegation of government and business representatives to visit five mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area to learn from their successful experiences in development and industrial planning. The delegation attended the Guangdong-Hong Kong Economic and Trade Investment Cooperation Exchange Conference in Guangzhou, where officials and business representatives from both regions gathered to discuss development and explore opportunities.
He expressed his hope that all sectors would work together to make the most of the significant development opportunities in the Greater Bay Area, making greater contributions to the comprehensive advancement and the nation's great rejuvenation through Chinese-style modernization.
