Sense of contrast! Chinese fighter, acupuncturist Shi Ming makes waves on internet
China's straw weight Shi Ming knocked out China's Feng Xiaocan via head kick to win the road to UFC Season 3 Straw weight Final at UFC fight night on Saturday (Nov. 23).
Following two rounds in which she struggled to out-strike the taller Feng Xiaocan, Shi landed an unbelievable knockout in the third round to become the latest Chinese fighter to compete in the world's top mixed martial arts tournament.
It is learned that Shi Ming was born in Heilongjiang, northeast China, and began to practice martial arts at thirteen years old. She has practiced taekwondo, Sanda, wrestling, and so on.
Later, influenced by his grandfather in traditional Chinese medicine, Shi went to Yunnan University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and chose to specialize in acupuncture, moxibustion, and tuina.
Currently, Shi is a professional physician, and only some of her colleagues at the hospital know that she competes in fights during her downtime.
In 2020, Shi Ming won 12 MMA titles and wrestled third place in China, South Korea, and Myanmar.
Shi's sense of contrast quickly gained popularity on the internet.
According to Shi, working as an acupuncturist is immensely satisfying. In addition to alleviating patients' anguish, it enables her to help teammates heal from injuries.
