Watch This | Traffic accidents happen on North Lantau Highway, involving 17 vehicles
This morning (Nov. 15), Hong Kong generally recorded over 10 millimeters of rainfall, which led to slippery road conditions. On the North Lantau Highway heading towards the airport, four traffic accidents occurred within 20 minutes, involving a total of 17 vehicles and resulting in one minor injury.
At 7:40 a.m., a taxi collided with five private cars, injuring one person. At 7:42 a.m., two vehicles were involved in another collision. By 8:00 a.m., another two vehicles collided, and a minute later, seven vehicles were involved in yet another accident, though no injuries were reported in these incidents.
The Transport Department announced that some lanes on the North Lantau Highway (towards the airport) near the Siu Ho Wan vehicle depot remain closed due to traffic accidents. Drivers can only use the remaining lanes for travel.
