'Now we own the core!' New AEF1200 engine showcased at Airshow China
At this year's Airshow China, the AEF1200 engine made a striking debut at the booth of Aero Engine Corporation of China (AECC).
As the largest exhibit at the booth, this engine is China's first independently developed high bypass ratio dual-rotor turbofan engine. Its performance indicators have reached internationally advanced levels, filling a gap in China's aviation power sector and providing power for large Chinese aircraft.
On-site reports revealed that the AEF1200 engine employs cutting-edge high bypass ratio design principles. This innovative design significantly enhances fuel efficiency, achieving energy-saving and emission-reduction goals, and reduces noise while considerably increasing thrust output, providing stronger power support for flight.
The unique dual-rotor structure of the AEF1200 allows the engine to adapt flexibly to different flight stages, maintaining optimal operating conditions at all times. This design optimizes airflow paths, further enhancing the overall performance of the engine and ensuring smooth and efficient flight. In terms of materials, the AEF1200 utilizes lightweight yet high-strength alloy materials, reducing the engine's weight and significantly improving its durability and reliability.
A representative from the China Aviation Engine Group stated that the AEF1200 engine, with its high thrust, low fuel consumption, and long lifespan, has achieved performance indicators that rank among the world's advanced levels. Compared to similar international products, the AEF1200 demonstrates strong competitiveness in rated thrust and fuel economy, injecting new vitality into the development of China's aviation industry.
