Tropical Cyclone Toraji nears HK: HKO issues Strong Wind Signal No. 3
As Tropical Cyclone "Toraji" approaches, the Hong Kong Observatory issued the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 at 2:40 p.m. today (Nov. 13), which will remain in force at least until 11 p.m. tonight.
According to the forecast, "Toraji" will skirt within 150 to 200 kilometers south of HK tonight to tomorrow morning but it will weaken at the same time. Whether a higher Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal will be issued depends on the degree of weakening of Toraji when it edges closer to the Pearl River Estuary, the distance of its associated gale winds from the Pearl River Estuary, and the change of local wind conditions.
The observatory also advised members of the public to take note of the latest weather information, stay away from the shoreline, and secure or move indoors any loose objects that could be blown away.
