Sun Dong to attend Mainland/Hong Kong Science and Technology Co-operation Committee meeting in Xi'an
The Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Professor Sun Dong, will lead a Hong Kong delegation to Xi'an tomorrow (Nov. 11) for the 18th meeting of the Mainland/Hong Kong Science and Technology Co-operation Committee.
The Mainland/Hong Kong Science and Technology Co-operation Committee is tasked to organize and coordinate technological exchange and cooperation between the Mainland and Hong Kong. The upcoming meeting will be co-chaired by Professor Sun and Vice Minister of Science and Technology Ms Lin Xin. During his stay in Xi'an, Professor Sun will call on leaders of Shaanxi Province and Xi'an Municipality, and visit local scientific research platforms.
Members of the Hong Kong delegation include the Permanent Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Mr. Eddie Mak; the Commissioner for Innovation and Technology, Mr. Ivan Lee, as well as representatives from universities, innovation and technology parks, and research and development institutes, etc.
Professor Sun will return to Hong Kong in the afternoon on Wednesday (Nov. 13). During his absence, the Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, Ms. Lillian Cheong, will be the Acting Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry.
