HKO: Tropical Cyclone Yinxing expected to strengthen, may approach HK within 400km over weekend
The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) reported that as of 10:00 a.m. today (Nov. 6), Tropical Cyclone Yinxing was centered about 560 km northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 12 km/h towards the vicinity of Luzon Strait and intensify gradually.
Currently, Yinxing's maximum sustained winds have reached 145 km/h, nearing the threshold of a severe typhoon. The HKO expects Yinxing to enter HK's 800 km warning zone by Friday while maintaining its strength as a severe typhoon. Although it will likely weaken as it moves into the South China Sea, Yinxing is forecast to remain at typhoon strength and come within 400 km of HK by Sunday.
