Typhoon Yinxing forecasted to approach HK this weekend
The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) reported this morning (Nov. 4) that the northeast monsoon is currently affecting southern China, with a cloud band covering the western coastal areas of Guangdong. As of 8 a.m., Tropical Storm Yinxing was located approximately 1,380 kilometers southeast of Manila, moving northwest at about 30 kilometers per hour toward the area east of the Luzon Strait.
The HKO noted that Yinxing is expected to gradually strengthen over the next few days and continue moving toward the area east of the Luzon Strait. According to the HKO's forecast track, Yinxing will intensify into a typhoon in the Northwest Pacific and is likely to cross the Bashi Channel, coming within 800 kilometers of Hong Kong by this Saturday (Nov. 9).
