Michael Wong: Three-run system at airport to be launched on Nov. 28
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Super Terminal Expo 2024 today (Nov. 5), Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong announced that the three-run system at the Hong Kong Airport will come into operation on Nov. 28.
Wong said the three-run system is expected to handle 120 million passengers and 10 million tons of cargo annually.
In the last financial year, Hong Kong Airport handled 45 million passengers and 4.5 million tons of cargo. The benefits of the three-run system will be substantial, making Hong Kong an even stronger aviation hub and better able to serve the rest of the region, which means that Hong Kong will offer a wealth of business and profit opportunities to those in the global aviation and logistics sectors, according to him.
