Chen Meng used to uninstall social media apps to avoid external influences
In the recent women's singles final at the Paris Olympics, national team player Chen Meng won the gold medal. However, as the champion, Chen faces not only congratulations but also a barrage of online verbal abuse. Recently, Chen attended a program where she revealed that she had once uninstalled all social media apps from her phone to avoid external influences.
Chen stated that initially, she believed external opinions would not affect her. However, over time, they started to have an intangible impact. As online violence increased, she began to feel very uncomfortable. To avoid looking at comments and evaluations online, she chose to uninstall apps from her phone, sometimes leaving only WeChat.
Chen admitted that during the toughest years, she struggled repeatedly for such reasons.
After successfully defending her title at the Paris Olympics and going through all the ups and downs, Chen described this experience as a turning point for her mindset. Now, she feels calm when she encounters negative evaluations.
