Asian Table Tennis Championships | Sun Yingsha to withdraw from individual event after experiencing reactions in arm muscles
On Oct. 10, Sun Yingsha said on her Weibo account that after the women's team final at the Asian Table Tennis Championships last night, she experienced significant reactions in her arm muscles. After a medical examination and with the agreement of the coaching team, she will withdraw from the individual event of the Championships.
According to her, after the Paris Olympics, the promotional schedule and high-intensity competitions continued, which made her feel fulfilled and supported by everyone. However, during this time, she has not had a "systematic adjustment."
"After yesterday's match, my arm's muscles showed a noticeable reaction. Following an examination by the national team's medical staff and confirmation from the Asian Championships organizing committee, the coaching team agreed to let me withdraw from the individual event to protect my health."
"Everyone needs no worry; after a period of recovery and adjustment, I will come back with better performances. Please continue to cheer for the Chinese national team!"
Previously, during the final match of the 2024 Asian Table Tennis Championships on Oct. 9, the Chinese women's team, consisting of Sun Yingsha, Wang Yidi and Chen Xingtong, faced the Japanese Women's Team. With a total score of 1-3, Japan won the championship.
In the second set, Sun won 3-0 against Mima Ito, and the Chinese women's team equalized the total score of 1-1 Japan, but lost to Miwa Harimo 2-3 in the fourth set.
