Strong Wind Signal No. 3 taking effect, HKO reminds residents to stay safe
The Hong Kong Observatory has issued the Strong Wind Signal, No. 3 at 10:40 a.m. this morning (Oct. 26).
This means that winds with mean speeds of 41 to 62 kilometers per hour are expected.
The Observatory reminds residents to make sure objects likely to be blown away are securely fastened or taken indoors. Residents should stay away from the shoreline and not to engage in water sports.
According to the Observatory, under the combined effect of the northeast monsoon and Trami, it will be windy with a few squally showers over the coast of southern China and the northern part of the South China Sea.
There are uncertainties in the subsequent movement and intensity of Trami. It may linger over the seas south of Hainan Island early next week and even turn eastwards moving across the central and northern parts of the South China Sea again.
