136th Canton Fair | Plastic-free products popular among buyers: Lifelike reed trees & bamboo spice bottle
The second phase of the 136th Canton Fair opened on Oct. 23.
This year's Canton Fair features over 1.04 million green and low-carbon products.
The number of offline exhibitors in the second phase reached 10,040. The exhibition covers three sectors: household goods, gifts and decorations, and building materials and furniture.
This year, the home and gift export products strongly promote "environmental protection", with many items focusing on being 100% "plastic-free".
The first phase of Hong Kong's adaptation period for the new regulation on disposable plastic products has recently concluded, with the concept of "plastic-free" accepted by more people. Many eco-friendly tableware and cups in the fair have become popular among Hong Kong buyers.
In the gift exhibition area, which features Christmas gifts, eco-friendly Christmas trees have attracted significant attention from buyers.
"We have created a lifelike reed tree product this year, which can perfectly replace the traditional Christmas tree made from natural pine. It not only creates a festive atmosphere for Christmas but also helps protect forests from deforestation," said Liu Aili, General Manager of Anshan Transworld Import & Export Inc., "This eco-friendly Christmas tree is made from sustainable materials, which does not cause allergic reactions and can be reused."
At the booth of SINOGLASS Co,. Ltd., a spice bottle made from pure bamboo and glass has achieved 100% "plastic-free", attracting several overseas buyers. Wu Jie, product manager of the company, stated that this product is made solely from bamboo, silicone, glass, and stainless steel, containing no plastic at all. It poses no harm to human health and does not pollute the environment.
