Translation function in WeChat mini-programs facilitates foreign visitors at 136th Canton Fair
The 136th Canton Fair is currently held in Guangzhou.
To facilitate convenient and secure transactions for global exhibitors and visitors, WeChat has launched a new translation function in its mini-programs.
Visitors attending the Canton Fair who upgrade to the latest version of WeChat can find a new "Translate" button in the menu at the top right corner when they open any mini-program. This feature allows users to start translation functions, cancel translations, and switch languages anytime. It supports 18 languages, including Chinese, English, French, German, Japanese, and Italian.
International visitors can access mobile payment and mini-program usage guides at the international arrival hall in Terminal 2 of Baiyun International Airport on the first floor of Exhibition Hall D and at service desk 12-3 in Exhibition Hall B.
Data from WeChat Pay shows that in the first 11 days of October this year, the number of inbound payment transactions in Guangdong doubled compared to last year.
Since July 2023, WeChat Pay has provided services to millions of foreign visitors to China, with transaction numbers and amounts experiencing significant growth, reaching tens of millions of transactions and billions in total value.
With the integration of features like the WeChat mini-program translation, foreigners coming to China are expected to have a better travel experience.
