Traveling with furry friends in Hong Kong often requires extra planning, as pet-friendly transportation options are still limited. Fortunately, various ride-hailing platforms are making it easier for pet owners to get around the city with their furry friends. In addition to Uber Pet, several local services offer convenient and reliable pet transport solutions. Here are five of the platforms in HK that cater to pet owners, ensuring a hassle-free journey for both you and your furry friends!

1. 99VIP
Operating for over seven years, 99VIP offers dedicated pet transportation services. To book a ride, simply WhatsApp 6056 7758 with details of your pick-up and drop-off locations, date, time, and number of passengers and pets. The platform guarantees service regardless of your pet's size. After each trip, the vehicle is thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, ensuring a hygienic ride. Note that 99VIP has a minimum fare of HK$140 per trip, with a higher minimum of HK$250 on HK Island. There are additional charges for night services, and bookings should be made at least one to two days in advance for weekdays and up to a week or more for weekends and public holidays.

2. GOGOVAN
GOGOVAN also offers pet-friendly transportation. Simply open the GOGOX app, select the "call a van" option, and check the "transport pets" box when entering your destination. This service allows up to five passengers along with your pets, and pet transportation incurs an extra charge of only HK$10, regardless of the number of pets. If you need to transport pets without an accompanying passenger, an additional HK$50 will be charged. Cleaning fees, if necessary, are negotiable with the driver.

3. Lalamove
Lalamove's service is another pet-friendly option. After inputting your pick-up and drop-off points, choose the "transport pets" function. The service charges an additional HK$10 for transporting up to five pets, with extra fees negotiable for larger groups. Lalamove also offers discounts for certain customers, which can offset the pet transport surcharge. For a more comfortable ride, you can select the updated option, which provides a larger cabin space for your pets to travel in comfort.

4. Freeride
Previously known as Pews' Ride, Freeride now offers a dedicated pet transport service. All rides are cashless, and there are no surge pricing mechanisms, ensuring transparency in costs. Freeride also offers a special discount for small pets that remain in a carrier or bag, providing a HK$10 rebate.

5. Call4van
Call4van uses a GPS/LBS dispatching system to match customers with professional drivers quickly. By selecting the nearest available van, Call4van ensures an efficient and comfortable ride for both you and your pets. The platform is especially suitable for larger pets, as it uses spacious cargo vans. The pricing is transparent, with a single HK$15 surcharge for transporting pets, regardless of the number of animals (for dogs/pets in bags). Toll fees and other travel costs will be clearly listed.
