The National Bureau of Statistics announced that China's gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 4.6% year-on-year in the third quarter, slightly above the market expectation of 4.5%. The economy expanded by 4.8% in the first three quarters of the year.
The government work report has set the economic growth target for this year at around 5%.
