Following releasing his third Policy Address during his tenure on Wednesday (16th), Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu has been actively engaging with the media. Today (18th), he visited the Hong Kong Ta Kung Wen Wei Media Group, marking the third consecutive year he has given an exclusive interview to Ta Kung Pao, Hong Kong Wen Wei Po, and Dot Dot News after delivering his Policy Address. During the interview, Lee elaborated on his governance philosophy and shared personal reflections from his time in office.

When asked about his typical morning routine, Lee revealed that he sometimes wakes up as early as 5 a.m. or earlier if pressing issues come to mind. He remarked, "Perhaps every Chief Executive faces similar challenges because there are always many concerns weighing on your mind."

Lee also expressed gratitude for the encouragement he receives from citizens. "When I visit communities, some residents come up to me and say words of encouragement. That means the most to me," he said. For him, the driving force behind his work as Chief Executive is witnessing the people's happiness and understanding how they live their lives. He emphasized the importance of building a collective consensus and fostering unity across society. "When we all participate, the combined strength of 7.5 million people becomes greater than the sum of its parts—1 plus 1 is greater than 2."

As the interview concluded, Lee spoke passionately about his vision for Hong Kong: "If the entire city can come together, united in reform and development, we will undoubtedly improve people’s livelihoods and build a brighter future."
