Comics | Satisfaction of PRH tenants
Chief Executive John Lee delivered his third Policy Address yesterday (October 16) at the Legislative Council. Lee stated that housing is a major concern for the public. With the light public housing to be completed gradually starting next year, the overall waiting time for public rental housing (PRH) could be reduced by a year and a half to four and a half years in the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Lee indicated that the PRH Advance Allocation Scheme proposed when he took office had already allowed over 2,000 families to move into PRH 5 to 9 months earlier, which saved the beneficiaries nearly HK$50 million in rent expenses. By the 2027-28 fiscal year and before, approximately 10,000 additional units will also be available in advance.
