 
 
 A 58-year-old man was charged with the offense of "doing with a seditious intention an act or acts that had a seditious intention" under the Safeguarding National Security Ordinance after posting 239 seditious messages on four social media accounts. Recently, he pleaded guilty in the West Kowloon Magistrates' Court and was sentenced to imprisonment for 14 months.
The defendant Au Kin-wai reported being unemployed. The defender revealed that he is single and has been out of work since 2001, relying on financial support from his father and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance for his living expenses.
