CUHK reveals cases concerning fake diploma of non-local students from past five years
Wong Ka-chat, Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at the Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) stated today (Oct. 17) that after the recent discovery of the fake diploma scandal, the university has re-examined the admission applications of non-local students from the past five years and found a few cases concerning fake diploma, which have been referred to the police for follow-up.
Wong indicated that they are maintaining communication with the Education Bureau and the police regarding the fake diploma issue, emphasizing that CUHK does not tolerate such behavior and will be very cautious with the issue.
Wong understood the public's concerns about fake diplomas and reiterated that they will try to deal with the problems. This includes increasing the manpower for reviewing applications, requiring applicants to provide original academic qualifications, and improving the admission application system through artificial intelligence.
Wong reminded students and parents to be vigilant if they encounter agents claiming to guarantee admission to CUHK, emphasizing that the university does not collaborate with any organizations for admission. Students interested in the application should contact the university directly.
