In July 2022, two dancers were injured when a giant screen overhanging a concert held by the male group MIRROR at the Hong Kong Coliseum suddenly fell.
Two project managers and a technical co-ordinator of the head organizer, Entertainment Impact, are suspected of making false claims to the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) about the weight of the equipment, which led to LCSD's approval of the concerts, and the three were charged with two counts of conspiracy to defraud and other offenses, to which they have denied.
The trial begins in the District Court today (Oct. 16). As the prosecution and defense need to agree on the facts of the case, the case is adjourned until tomorrow for the prosecution to read out its opening statement. The Prosecution will call 14 witnesses, including staff members of Music Nation Group.
