JD's 11. 11 shopping festival: HK, Macao business grows more than 3 times year-on-year
KEN YEUNG, the person in charge of Jingdong's Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan business, said at a press conference today (Oct. 15) that last night at 8:00 p.m. when the Double 11 shopping event officially began, sales in Hong Kong and Macao realized a more than threefold year-on-year growth. The third quarter so far, compared with the second quarter also showed a trend of growth.
He further pointed out that so far, the best sales are 3C electronic products and home appliances and other goods. Among the top five brands, four of them are domestic premium brands.
Talking about the specific sales situation, KEN YEUNG said, that among the five best-selling brands yesterday, four of them are domestic brands. In daily sales, Midea, TCL, Lenovo and other domestic brands sales excel. These brands are sold in Hong Kong, and Jingdong provides Hong Kong users with a wider and richer selection of products, providing some customized models of products.
In addition, JD's local team in Hong Kong is working with brands such as Skyworth to customize some of its TV products, exclusively for JD's Hong Kong customers. Another brand, TCL, will also be online in Hong Kong during the Double 11 period, operating as a self-operated and merchant platform store and launching customized products, he added.
He stressed that the platform is not only selling domestically produced goods, but is now actively introducing local retailers, local brands and merchants to the JD Hong Kong platform. Among them, brands familiar to local users such as JHC have begun to cooperate with Jingdong. Customers can not only buy goods online, but can also choose to have their goods delivered to their homes.
