Cathay Pacific's Airbus A350 returning to Hong Kong from Osaka, Japan on Oct. 11 was delayed due to a technical problem that was scheduled to take off at 6.40 pm last night (local time).
According to the information, the flight's take-off time was repeatedly delayed for more than five hours, until it took off at 11.51 pm local time (10.51 pm Hong Kong time).
Cathay Pacific Airways responded that the departure of flight CX595 from Osaka Kansai International Airport to Hong Kong, which was scheduled to be operated by an A350 aircraft on Oct. 11 at 6:40 p.m. (local time), was delayed due to a pre-takeoff technical problem.
The aircraft returned to the tarmac in accordance with standard operating procedures and was inspected by company engineering staff. Cathay Pacific emphasized that the technical problem was not related to the aircraft engine.
The company immediately arranged for another aircraft to operate flight CX595, which arrived in Hong Kong at 2.49 am today (Oct. 12). Meals were served to customers while they waited, passengers were kept up to date with flight information and offered appropriate assistance, and arrangements were made for transfer customers who needed to spend the night in Hong Kong to check into their hotels upon arrival.
Cathay Pacific said the safety of its customers and crew was the primary concern in all decisions. Cathay Pacific apologizes for any inconvenience caused to affected customers and thanks them for their understanding.
