Asian Table Tennis Championships | China women's team loses to Japan, misses out on title
During the final match of the 2024 Asian Table Tennis Championships on Oct. 9, the Chinese women's team, consisting of Sun Yingsha, Wang Yidi and Chen Xingtong, faced the Japanese Women's Team. With a total score of 1-3 against Japan, China won the first runner-up of the event and Japan won the championship.
In the first set, Wang Yidi was defeated by Miwa Harimoto 2-3, and the Chinese women's team lost to Japan 0-1, with the score of 11-7, 7-11, 6-11, 11-8, 9-11.
In the second set, Sun Yingsha won 3-0 against Mima Ito, and the Chinese women's team equalized the total score of 1-1 Japan, with the scores of 12-10, 11-6, 11-5.
Chen Xingtong lost to Miu Hirano 1-3 in the third set, with the score of 9-11, 12-10, 10-12, 4-11.
In the fourth set, Sun Yingsha lost to Miwa Harimoto 2-3, ending the match 1-3 with the score of 9-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-7, 11-6.
